light stabilizer The light stabilizer is a substance that improves the light stability of a polymer material. In addition to protecting the polymer material, the light stabilizer can also be used to protect the package from ultraviolet rays and as an essential component in the filter.
The light stabilizer almost does not absorb the ultraviolet light which can cause the aging of the plastic, and the purpose of preventing the aging of the plastic is achieved. The mechanism of action of the light stabilizer is that it can effectively trap the free radicals generated by the plastic itself caused by ultraviolet light, thus preventing the occurrence of the chain reaction leading to the aging of the plastic. Such light stabilizers are also referred to as free radical trapping agents. Hindered amine is still the most important light stabilizer (free radical trapping agent) at present, and its stabilization mechanism is shown in the figure below:

A commonly used quencher is an organic nickel compound.
